Colors of the Fall

Designers are focusing on texture, contrast, and color for the fall 2011 season. Warm prints and a balance of old and new are inspiring a trendy new look. The combination of bright colors with basic neutrals shows a romantic, feminine side to the strong menswear inspired looks we have seen this season.

My favorite neutrals of the season are inspired by shades of coffee and bamboo. Brighter autumn colors such as honeysuckle make a great compliment. Deep teal is a unique contrast to the popular honeysuckle hue we have seen so far. Don’t get rid of that gray sweater! Medium stone gray remains as popular as ever, especially when paired with the orange ember color of a glowing fire.

But how can I wear these colors together? I came across this new fashion blog that answered many of my questions about fall trends. While there is little use of my favorite spandex blend fabrics, it has inspired me to put together my own look with all the colors of fall. I think I can even nail the tricky feminine twist on the menswear look I love so much!
