Get to know Kelly this month with her Q & A. You might learn something new about her! Isn’t she so cute in her photo!
Where are you from originally?
I’m from Canada! Born in Calgary, lived in Edmonton until we moved to Oregon in 1988. Eh.
What is your history with Pine Crest?
I started working for PC a little over 8 years ago, I was hired on as salesperson with a focus on visiting our lovely customers across the USA and Canada. My Dad, oddly enough, worked for Pine Crest a few years as a controller when we first moved to the States. I did not know I was applying to Pine Crest at the time as it was a blind job posting. Small world!
What is a typical day working at PCF?
Lots of green tea, fielding phone calls, order entry and some design development. I send out lots of samples too. I’m usually on the road one week a month visiting our awesome customers.
Do you have a favorite spandex print or fabric at PCF?
I really like Bridge City, and well, Portland is the bridge city!
What are you listening to while you work? Favorite band at the moment?
I try to switch up my music every day to keep things interesting. Some recent favorites include Hall & Oates, Radiohead, anything reggae, Portishead, Edith Piaf, Fleetwood Mac, The Pharcyde, Ray Charles, I also enjoy listening to music from other countries, even if I can’t understand what’s being said. Favorite band at the moment is probably Alt-J.
If you could have any super power what would it be and why?
I would like to be able transport myself to places, Star Trek style. That way if I feel like Cuban food or something, I can have dinner in Havana.
While you are not at Pine Crest what do you like to do in your free time?
Travel. Nothing inspires me more. I love to hike, hit up farmer’s markets, antique shops or estate sales, check out live music, go fishing, happy hour with my ladies and explore the beautiful NW.
If you could live any where in the world where would it be and why?
I would move back to France in a heartbeat, it feels like home to me. Maybe PC will open an office there one day???
Rumor around the office is that you are a tea connoisseur…what is your favorite cup of tea?
My favorite currently is a Caramel Green Tea by Inspired Leaf out of Bend, OR. It’s toasty and delicious.
Another rumor is that you are an expert at infusing vodka?! Will you end up leaving PCF to become a professional vodka infuser!!!!
I would not call myself an expert by any means but I do like to infuse and well, my friends love to be guinea pigs! I’m currently infusing a batch of my favorite kind; rhubarb. I won’t quit the day job just yet…
